After some operations, tissue is sent to pathology. Reports may describe diagnosis, size, grade, margins, lymph nodes, inflammation, infection, or other findings. Patients can ask whether margins are clear, whether lymph nodes were involved, whether staging changed, whether more treatment is needed, and how the results affect follow-up.
